I came to Carnegie Mellon as a 6-month contractor to create a single website. I ended up staying for five years and transforming the university’s online presence through 15+ website creations & refreshes, content strategy, messaging & positioning, brand identity, and more.

Highlights:

  • Led the information architecture, UX, and high-level content creation for the Tepper School of Business website. I worked with the school’s marketing and web team to simplify the 5,000 page website down to <600 pages, restructure and fine-tune the navigation, and unite the school’s branding with the university’s — completing the 9-month projected launch in 4 months. Because of the success of the project, I was asked to spearhead the development of Tepper’s intranet, working with key stakeholders and business units across the school to convert a massive PDF document into a digital online experience for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Through competitive benchmarking and bringing together resources from across the institution into one centralized location, I created the first Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion website in university history. I was really proud of this one for the challenge of the information architecture complexity of merging multiple websites, but most importantly, for the impact the site’s had on current and prospective students.
  • At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, I rapidly built an emergency online portal via the university CMS for students, parents, faculty, staff, and administrators to get up-to-the minute, critical information for their health and safety. Shortly thereafter, I worked in collaboration with the Delphi Research Team and Facebook on a COVID-19 tracking map that garnered national attention on CNNWiredCNETNBC News, The VergePopular Mechanics, Gizmodo, and a Good Morning America interview with Mark Zuckerberg, among other outlets.
